You may have recently read about a tragedy in Coventry, in which two people died when a bus crashed into a supermarket. A £2.3m fine was handed to a transport operator who failed to spot signs relating to their aged driver’s mental health. There but for the grace of God go many businesses.

One in 4 people in the UK suffer a mental health issue in the course of a year. But mental health charity MIND says such issues affect the transport and logistics industry more with 30% of self-reported illnesses related to stress, anxiety and depression in this sector. This is probably the tip of the iceberg, as this is also an industry in which talking openly about such issues can be difficult to do.
