This fee is for up to 12 delegates, with the course run at either your premises or Gauntlet's*.
Objective
- This course is designed to train delegates for both and practical aspects of conducting manual handling assessments in the workplace.
- In line with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations delegates will be trained
- In the correct principles and methods of manual handling;
- To conduct suitable and sufficient assessments to identify significant risks to health & safety;
- To reduce the risk of injury to the lowest extent as far as is reasonably practicable;
- To record the results of the assessments.
Suitable for
The course is suitable for any member of the management team or employee who will perform manual handling assessments as part of their role.
Duration
1 day (9.00 am - 4.30pm).
Syllabus
In order to meet the objectives, the course develops an understanding of ;
- Legal and practical reasons for manual handling assessment;
- The difference between hazard and risk;
- The requirements of the Manual Handling Regulations 1992
- Common injuries and how they are caused;
- The four areas to be considered during an assessment;
Certificate
Delegates will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.
