Objective
his initial course is aimed at providing guidance on current legislation and giving senior managers an overview of various regulations. There will be opportunities to ask questions and to discuss the details of risk assessments pertinent to your business.

Managers to become conversant with health and safety terminology, what risk assessments are required to comply with the law.

Managers to understand what accidents, industrial diseases and dangerous occurrences require reporting to their local enforcing authority.

Managers to be made aware of welfare and premises issues covered by the Workplace Regulations.

• An update on current legislation and what common health and safety legislation applies to your business.
• The requirements of Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 detailed.
• The requirements of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1999. (COSHH).
• The requirements of the Fire Precautions (Workplace Regulations) 1997.
• The requirements of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
• The requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998. (PUWER).
• Understanding the reporting requirements of The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrence Regulations 1995. (RIDDOR).
• The requirements of the Display Screen Regulations 1992.
• The Workplace Health Safety and Welfare 1992 general requirements.
• Miscellaneous health and safety information to meet needs of senior managers.
