Course Overview
This course is aimed at providing guidance on the Health and Safety Policy and Risk Assessments developed for the business.
Staff to be made aware of the company Health and Safety Policy and Risk Assessments and know where the related written documents are kept for inspection.
Staff to understand which accidents, industrial diseases and dangerous occurrences requires reporting to their line managers.
Staff to be made aware of high-risk situations and the company policy of risk reduction.
Who should attend?
Any member of staff who needs to be aware of the company Health & Safety Policy and Workplace Risk Assessments.

Syllabus
The Employees responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Fire arrangements covering the premises.
- First Aid arrangements covering the premises and out stationed workers.
- Accident reporting - RIDDOR.
- The Personal Protective Equipment arrangements and use.
- Compressed Air safety.
- Safe use of electricity.
- Arrangements for COSHH. Understanding how to work safely with chemicals.
- The use of Fork Lift Trucks
- Safe Manual Handling arrangements.
- Smoking policy.
- Alcohol and Drugs Policy.
- Reporting Endorsements and convictions.
- The safe use of computers.
- Housekeeping arrangements.
- Noise policy.
- Safe use of machinery.
- Safe use of abrasive wheels.
- Safe use of ladders, working at heights.
